The latest news in the camp of the Nigeria senior national football team, the Super Eagles, who are getting ready for the big showdown with the Pharaohs of Egypt, is that the incumbent captain of the team, Ahmed Musa who plies his trade in the Russian League with CSKA Moscow had done the unimaginable by handing over the Super Eagles captain hand band to Mikel Obi of Chelsea football club.
According to Musa, it was important to give the responsibility to the most senior person in the team and he had found the right person in John Obi Mikel.
Mikel on the other hand has accepted the captaincy and commended Musa on such a great and wise decision.
We do hope that this latest development will further boost the spirit in the camp as the team gear up for the all important match tomorrow on Nigerian soil.
The Super Eagles will tackle Egypt tomorrow in Group G 2017 AFCON qualifier with the return leg taken place in Alexandria next Tuesday.
Nigeria currently trail Egypt by two point on the log, with just four points from two games as against the six points that the Egyptian have garnered in their previous two matches.
A win tomorrow will boost Eagles chance of qualifying for the Africa’s football biggest showpiece.
