For the second consecutive time the Super Eagles of Nigeria might not be represented at the biennial African football showpiece following the defeat the team suffered to the Pharaoh of Egypt in Tuesday’s return leg match.
Last Friday, the Egyptian forced Nigeria to a one all draw, a match that was played in Kaduna. So with this result Nigeria has just two points in three game and will be needing a miracle to make it to the continental showpiece next year.
Egypt sit comfortably in first position in Group G with seven point from three matches and with the withdrawal of chat from the qualifiers, it means that Nigeria has a very high mountain to climb if the dream of making it to the next year competition will become a reality.
It would be recalled that the Eagles under the tutelage of Steven Keshi did not make it to AFCON 2015 which was hosted by Equatorial Guinea and eventually won by the Elephants of Cote Ivoire.
